Fairgrounds

We visited the Kings County Fairgrounds today to get the site plan ready and layout the skateboard demo. This building is going to work great. The size will allow for two skateboard teams to be set up throughout the night. The first team are local skateboarders from Hanford that are sponsored by FRC BoardShop. This team will be doing the pre show and giving out door prizes. At each show they students will be able to fill out a form and enter the raffle to win a free skateboard. We talked to the manager of the building and he showed us how to get everything set up for that night. This building has heat and will a great venue. Students can buy their tickets at the door and start the night with the show. Registration will be at 9:00pm and the pre-show is at 9:30pm

Skateboard Show

I am writing this blog to inform everyone that we have been steadily working on Party 4 Life/Skateboard Show. We have made a change in the location of the Skateboard Show. At first we wanted to have the show at the Civic Center, but after much planning we have decided that the best place for the show will be at the Fairgrounds. We have reserved the building at the Fairgrounds because it is the best place to do it. The floor is right for the skaters and we are not going to have worry about scratching it up. In addition, we were going to rent bleachers for the show and have to haul them over to the Civic. The bleachers that we were going to use were from the Lemoore High School. My wife and I went to measure the bleachers and there is no way that we could get them into the Civic. Looking at the Fairgrounds building we are going to have a better set up for the students and they are going to take care of the bleachers. We thought about maybe doing the show outside of the church building in the parking lot but it is too risky. We have paid good money to bring this team from San Diego and we want everyone to watch it. If we had it outside there could be a good possibly that it might rain or too cold for people to be outside. After much prayer and thinking we have decided to rent the the Fairgrounds. This is going to be an extra cost. We are praying that there will be people in our community that will give to help the teenagers of Kings County. If you would like to give a donation to help us with the skateboard show please email me at paul@kcfchurch.org

FRC Board Shop

I met with Joseph the owner of FRC Boardshop today. We talked about the Skateboard show. FRC will be our Exclusive Venue Sponsors for the Civic Center. We are excited about them joining with us today. They have a few guys that will help us get the Party started at 9:00pm. Some of the skaters that FRC sponsors will be doing a Pre-show before BFC starts their show. The BFC Team is on their Hide and SEEK tour and will be with us to help ring in the New Year. This is going to be awesome show! There will be several giveaways and the students will have a chance to win a skateboard and other prizes. We still need volunteers for this venue. If you would like to help make this a successful night please email me at paul@kcfchurch.org

Calling all Volunteers

We want to let you know that you can join a winning team. We are looking for a few good adults that will give their time to help save lives. We are looking for energetic, and caring adults that want to help youth have a good time instead of getting involved in drinking and driving, drugs and wild parties during New Year's Eve. You can help save lives and we invite you to join our team to make an impact in our community

We are not looking for people who are critical or judgemental. We are looking for fun loving, caring and adventurest adults who will help make Party 4 Life a sucessful event. We will be meeting in room #11 at Koinonia Christian Fellowship (12:30pm) for more info email me at paul@kcfchurch.org

I talked to Jennifer Fawkes from the Hanford Sentinel today regarding their involvement and sponsorship for the Party 4 Life Event. Jennifer stated that the Sentinel will be a co-sponsor this year. We talked about the cause and how the teenagers need this event on New Year's Eve. We are excited about the Sentinel joining with us to promote this event. We are very appreciative of their involvement and financial support this year. The Sentinel will help us get the word out about P4L. We believe that without there involvement it would be hard to get the word out to the community. P4L saves lives by keeping the students safe and off the streets. This is a worthy cause and we are so glad that various businesses are catching the vision to reach our youth before it is too late. We Know the Causes Research shows which behaviors contribute to teen-related crashes. Inexperience and immaturity combined with speed, drinking and driving, not wearing seat belts, distracted driving (cell phone use, loud music, other teen passengers, etc.), drowsy driving, nighttime driving, and other drug use aggravate this problem. Our goal is to help reduce the statistics and help save lives. The National Higway Traffic Safety Administration states that the teenagers are more at risk to getting into accidents if they are driving with other teens late at night!

Securtiy

We are working with AAA security for P4L. This morning I have a meeting with them to get the contract taken care of. I will be meeting with Tracy to discuss the event and the need for security on each K.A.R.T bus. Our main goal is to make sure that no one jumps on the bus that is not supposed to. We want to keep the students safe and make sure that no one distracts the drivers. We have had a safe event in the past and we plan to keep it that way this year. Mr. Prewitt will be helping me with the overall security at each venue. He will manage the volunteer security team at each site. We still need help so if you are interested in helping youth have a great time and stay safe please email me at paul@kcfchurch.org.

Skateboard Show

This week my wife and I met with Martin Powers from Lemoore Unified School District. I talked to Martin regarding the use of bleachers for the Skateboard show that will be in the civic this year. We want to seat at least 200 people for each showing. We are wanting to reserve these bleachers for our P4L event now! My wife and I went to the Lemoore Campus and located the bleachers with the help of Mr. Powers. We measured the bleachers and talked about the amount of people we could seat with each bleacher. It seems that we will need to request 4 bleachers from Lemoore High. The bleachers will make the show more comfortable and will help us to managed the 200 students that will be showing up to see BFC (Boarders For Christ). Martin was very helpful and showed us around the campus. We will need your help to transport theses bleachers the morning of the P4L event. If you would like to volunteer your time to help us load and set up these bleachers, please let me know and join us for our next volunteer meeting on 11/09 in Room #11 after the second service. We are looking for someone who would be willing to organize the set up for the show and help us with transporting the bleachers. email me at paul@kcfchurch.org.

Buses for P4L

I talked to Ron Hughes this week regarding the buses for the Party 4 Life. I talked to Ron regarding the amount of teenagers that we are trying to reach. I explained that this year we are going to try to reachout to 1200 youth. We will be printing 1200 tickets this year. Last year we had 5 buses running and this year we will have 6 buses. We are wanting to back a bigger splash in Kings County. The youth pastors in Visalia are putting together a Party 4 Life and they are going to be printing out 1500 tickets. I believe that there are more youth to be reached in this area. I talked to Ron regarding bringing youth from Corcoran. Ron stated that they have a bus system in place. Yesterday I called the Director of the Dial A Ride bus system and inquired about bringing a bus from Corcoran. I will need more people to help me reach out to the youth in Corcoran and the surrounding areas of Hanford. I believe that we can add at least 100-150 youth to our event. If you live in this area or would like to help reach out to the youth of Corcoran please email me at paul@kcfchurch.org

Extreme Zone Gladiators Style

I met with Linda from the Hanford Bible Store. We talked about working together on Party 4 Life. Linda and her daughter were very excited about what we are doing for the teenagers in Kings County. They stated that they have been praying that more teenagers would drop into the store and take a look at the Bibles and Music that they have available for them. Linda thinks that Party 4 Life is a great way to keep the kids off the street during the New Year's celebration. Linda stated they would like to donate some prizes and material for the students who come out to the event. I would like to give prizes away at the Extreme Zone (inflatable equipment) in the church auditorium. http://www.nbc.com/American_Gladiators/

We have reserved several pieces of inflatable equipment this year from Joey's Jumping Castle. Here is the plan: Turn the church Auditorium into an Extreme Zone and have an American Gladiator Style competion during each half hour. This will take some work and more adult supervision. Hint... We need more adult volunteers. We put together the Extreme Zone during the Jr. High Lock In, and it worked out great! The students are motivated by the competion and the ability to win a prize. Alice is going to give us a good price on the equipment listed below:
Sumo Suit and Jousting
Sports Run
Over sized Boxing Rink
Obstacle Course

I would like to get the Rock Climbing Wall for 8 hours but I need a sponsor for that piece of equipment. The plan would be if some one could sponsor the Climbing wall we will place their logo and business name on the Top it. (PLEASE contact me if you would like to be the Exlusive Sponsor for the Extreme Zone.

We need people to help us with getting prizes donated. Here is a list of items you may want to donate
1. skateboards
2. radios
3. Candy
4. gift cards
5. T Shirts
6. Caps
7. music CDs
8. Bible.
etc.

If you can help us by volunteering you are a saint!! If you can not volunteer please contact me if you can donate prizes or money to help sponsor the event. paul@kcfchurch.org

This group has been doing shows for the last Ten years and they are going to be with us to help celebrate the New Year. Help us get the word out about this years P4L. We still need volunteers to help at this venue. The team will share a positive message about staying off drugs and alcohol to our students. Civic Center

Today we got the Civic Center nailed down. Good thing for us our church reserved this in advance. Good going church staff! This year we are going to provide a skateboarding show in the Civic and we are going to move the inflatable equipment to the Church auditorium. We will need to get bleachers in the building and provide food in this location. We will have three shows throughout the night. This is going to be a new venue for P4L this year that we believe the students will enjoy.

Meeting with Visalia Youth Pastors

Yesterday morning, my wife and I met with Pastor Jeff Atherton who is coordianting the Visalia Party 4 Life. Jeff had a lot creative things that he his doing to help make 08 a huge success. He is adding a new venue and their vision is to have over 1000 students in attendance. We talked about media coverage and ways to advertise Party 4 Life on the Radio stations and Cable. This year we are going to join forces and get the word out that their are two Party 4 Life celebrations going on. We believe that the more parents and students hear about this event the more participation and support we will have from the community.

We discussed the new venue of the SkateBoarders show at Civic and talked about the inflatable equipment at the church location. The auditorium will be a great spot for the inflatabels and the Big Screen will give us a great way to show music videos, slides and make it an extreme event.

Party 4 Life O8

We are well on our way for Party 4 Life 08. We just met with Roger at the Adventure Park in Hanford and he gave us his full support and discussed key issues on how to make this year a success. We had a chance to pray for the students that will come to the event this year.
